Travel, Podcasts and Study Abroad! Oh my!

It’s more than two weeks in the New Year and it’s high time that you know what I’ve been up to! Yes, it definitely concerns you too! Let’s go!

Happy New Year everyone!  Whatever you have planned for the coming months or the year itself, I know that will entail some kind of travel, travel research and focus! I’ve kicked off a new series on my podcast: In My Travels! This series of interviews is about how travel effects your personal as well as professional life. We will also speak about #Study Abroad as you know that is something very near and dear to my heart. I have invited the most intriguing members of my community here in Richmond, Virginia and Charlottesville, Va.

By the way, I #commute an hour to and from work 5 DAYS A WEEK. I have never commuted anywhere for more than 20 minutes by car in my life. Believe me, if it were not for house sitting with @TrustedHouseSitters, I would be extremely exhausted! (This post is not sponsored, by the way.) The podcast will focus on leaders in #education, #marketing, #technology, #journalism, #advocacy and so much more!

It truly is a blessing to be in the company of individuals who are inspired by travel and study abroad. I get to know them more in THEIR travels and I hope that it inspires you in YOUR travels. Whether you are an avid traveler or an armchair adventurer, you will know that travel is not just about leaving your country.  You will learn that no matter where you happen to be right now, whatever your circumstances, you can travel and experience this beautiful world!

If it were not for the pandemic I would still be in China working and discovering a new culture. All is not lost!  We can all discover and travel within our neighborhood, city, state and beyond. Just because you are not booking flights for your  next adventure, doesn’t mean you cannot travel with a book about the place you long to discover, for example.

We are in the process of editing the first episode in the series but I’d like for you to read up on our dynamic first guest: Zikki Munyao, a native of Kenya, resident of Charlottesville, Va. devoted husband and father of 20 years and has never met a stranger! I can hardly wait to share our conversation with you all. What a great start to 2024!
